Frequently Asked Questions

How old do you have to be to get tattooed?

In North Carolina, you must be 18 years old. No exceptions.

Do you have any flash or lettering books I can look at?

No. We are a small custom studio and as such, everything we do is custom. If you are looking for more of a “street” shop where you can pick something off the wall, then there are several quality ones in the area that we would be glad to refer you to.

What kind of Machines / Pigments do you use?

I am proudly sponsored by Peak needles and use their needle cartridges exclusively. I also use Peak tattoo machines most of the time. However, I also use Killerbee tattoo machines or Inkjecta machines. Different tattoo machines work with different dynamics and characteristics, and where one might not be perfect for one person’s skin, another will work.

As far as ink, I use, almost exclusively, Worldfamous. Though there are times I use inks from Fusion, Eternal, & Starbright.

I came by the shop to do a consult and you weren’t there. What hours do you work?

Robert works by appointment, at the convenience of his clients. As such, on some days he might work from 9am-3pm on say a housewife whose children are in school. On another day he might start working at 7pm on someone who gets off work at 6. it all depends. To set up a consult it is really better to text 240.252.0479.

Does the shop have a phone or wireless?

We have neither. You can contact anyone who works there individually, and if you need the internet while you are there, please let us know ahead of time and we will set up a hot spot.

Do you take credit cards?

I can take credit cards, but there is going to be an upcharge to do so. I can take Venmo, Googlepay, and PayPal.

How much do you charge?

$100/per hour. Please see the about section for more on this.

How do I get a free tattoo?

While we occasionally do promotions where you can win one, generally being the significant other or close friend of the artist is the only way. And then you have to wait.

Where can I get a tattoo that doesn’t hurt?

On someone else.

How far out are you booked?

It depends when you ask. Usually about a month, but We always try to leave some openings, and there are cancellations as well. So Please, don’t hesitate to ask.
